Blue pools gazed dreamily about the setting, mouth hung open slightly as Rin sunk further and further into her world of dreams. Her pace was slow, the gait crisp yet held presence of being weak. An unfortunate mistake; three large well-muscled human men came staggering along after the daydreaming Lich. They had no idea, even. She appeared to be 19, as she was when she died, pale, of the caucasian background. Long, straight, hair that fell to the small of her back, and blue eyes pure. Lips were full and pale rose, features proportioned to make her hold a childish appearance- weak, and terribly misleading. Rin was a lot more than a gorgeous face.
She rounded the corner, still blissfully unaware of her predators. She was calm, at an ease. Nothing was the matter, and so it stayed as such in the girl's mind. People shoved past her on their way about Atrum Urbs, though never surfacing the poor misguided girl from her ease and dreams. The men chortled and laughed blundering at each other and how clever they thought they were. The girl was easy prey, and damn sexy at that. She was young, and no way could she hold all of them back at one time. Taking advantage of her wouldn't be a problem. They laughed even more ludicrous as she rounded the corner without a care in the world. An alleyway opened to the left, where they disappeared into. It rounded the block and went up a few more blocks, to a mainly abandoned part of town. 'Perfect...' one of them though with a grin. The girl was already down here, and nearly them at a steady pace. She was infront of the alley. One of his comorades called to her, and her world shattered. Paniced, her head flew around, hair whipping her face. Orbs locked upon the men, and rather than relaxing, her muscles tightened. They beckoned to her, and she started to walk away. 2 was too many... 2? Hands gripped her arms and she screaming, head spinning around. She had to put up a good act. One of the idiots had grapped her, and was pushing her towards the alley's gaping mouth. Down there, it was dark- too dark to see. Her eyes narrowed a fraction, as her calm began to slip.
She'd deal with them quickly.

Atrum Urbs, a good place for him to hide in the open from nasty poachers that would love to get his wings and the diamonds on them. Unlike most of his kind though, Ry wore no cloak and let his wings rest around his body neatly as his black shirt contorted to his chest, leather belts keeping it from falling off. Black trousers rolled down his pale white skin only to be topped off with a pair of black boots. His arms poked from the short sleeves of his shirt and his dark crimson eyes stared ahead while a scythe rested upon his back, the blade near his feet and protruding out to his left. Dirty blond hair drifted along his face as he moved through the streets, his eyes picking up almost every movement.
A man began to pass him, shoulders colliding and the man ended up twisting around and falling quickly to his rear. Turning to stare at the man, Ry noticed his locket flying in the air. Without hesitation, his hand went out and grabbed it. Looking at his locket than at the man that was on the ground, he perked an idle brow than shrugged it off as he slide his locket back into his pocket.
Moving through the streets, his eyes caught hold of a woman, Rin to be specific. An odd smile pressed to his lips as he watched her without paying attention of where he was going. Even in this stupor, he managed to miss a pole and several people that were busy doing something else looked up just moments before colliding with Ry. Luck was certainly always on his side, perhaps this was luck in play yet again? Having an itch on his head, Ry began to raise his hand until he felt it stop as it press into a wall. Shaken from his stupor, he stared at the corner before him and gave a laugh and raised his hand to itch his head finally.
Following after Rin, he began to notice a few men following her and his eyes went into a gentle glare. Something was going to go down and he was going to have to make sure he was there to ruin the plan. It was easy to follow them, for the men were interested in her and she seemed to be off in another world. As he followed them into an abandoned part of town, or perhaps merely less populated, he noticed the men were making their move. Staying hidden in the shadows, he crept along and as they gained her attention from the alley way and the other men grabbed her, he made his move. Rounding into the alley, he drew his scythe and stared at the scene before him...

Her eyes had been devoured, whites and all, by a black pitch-like film. A noise eased from her throat as she had one man pinned upon the wall. His face was petrified, stammering. His eyes caught Ry, and a whimpering sound bubbled from his lips. "Help..." he stammered, but it was too late. He gasped, and began to gag as a white film began to emit from his lips, coiling in the air like a serpent. 'Twas his soul. Rin was grinning, sadistic and wild, high with pleasure as she saw his soul detach from his body. Her mouth opened wider, and in it flowed into her hungry, ravenous mouth, still it pouring from the man. For a moment, it looked like a floating tapeworm connected the two, the girl, and the man, pressed into the bricks, by the mouth. The girl didn't even notice Ry... the high was incredible. They had marvelous souls, oh yes.
The one who grabbed her was the first to go. His soul was warm... liquid pink, and it was sweet as candy. Her tongue ran across her mouth, relishing the slowly fading taste of their souls. It was like ecstasy. Then there was the other. His was... revolting. The fat one's. It was like swallowing poison; as she had pressed the last man into the wall, so hard the bricks gave way and started to break, she vomited. The taste lingered, though it were powerful- surging through her organs, feeding them, nourishment. Then the last man spoke. help... Help? No. No one would save them. She dropped them and spun, the ravenous beast inside glaring upon Ry, his scythe poised as if to attack. A T T A C K. Attack her... attack Rin... Rin screamed inwardly. This stranger was going to try to avenge their deaths. No. Rin wouldn't let him. She'd kill him... Rin smirked at the concept. Murdered souls were always the best. She drew toward him, hands pulling a small doll from her rear pocket. All she needed was his name... [/blockquote]

Noticing the tables were quickly turned, he tilted his head slightly and rested his hand against the wall, watching in an odd curiosity. She had something no other person had, it was guts, or perhaps it was something deeper than just that. Shrugging, he watched as the men that attempted to take advantage of were killed one by one, yet he couldn't say how. The way they moved when she was doing whatever it was, seemed like they were suffocating yet they didn't seem to even be doing that. Shaking his head from the questions, he looked over his shoulder for a moment, making sure there was no one else around before his head turned back around.
Just than he noticed she was going straight for him and he rose his free hand, "Calm down, I'm not with them, you have nothing to threat over," he stated calmly to her with no fear in his voice. Looking over at his scythe, he chuckled and slowly put it down on the ground before standing back up, "Nothing to fear, okay? I was just trying to help you, but clearly they needed the help more, sadly I don't help evil doers," he laughed as if it was all a joke. Honestly, it might as well have been, the evil doers had their plan back fire in their faces and died for picking the wrong person, it was amusing. "I am Ryhc Mandrine, what is your name?" he queried her, hoping that doll wasn't a voodoo doll and if it was, he was hoping she wouldn't use it.

Ryhc Mandrine... her hand tightened around the doll's torso, not yet activating the voodoo effect. She thought his name... put his soul into the doll. Yet she couldn't bring herself to sqeeze, to kill him. He had witnessed her in one of her most filthy of acts, and all he could do is be kind. She wanted to scream at him, tell him get a life. Her hand was frozen. Move... move! It stayed as it was, not even moving. She opened her mouth, as if to speak. Nothing.
Nothing... she chocked, dropping the doll to reach up and grasp her throat. Too much... she'd ate too much. Impossible. She'd had more than this before. Too long... too long had the adrenaline been in effect. Rin staggered on her feet, tears welling in the eyes of ebony, staring at Ry. Oh god... he had to help. He had to! He couldn't just leave her, chocking, could he? Of course he could. And any other sane person should. She wasn't worth saving. Then again, Rin wouldn't really die. She'd return, eventually. But the effect was the same. The pain was worse. What the hell was this? Punishment? It was torture, if anything. Rin didn't really breathe, but it was like her soul or whatever it was she had had been tied in a knot. Nothing came through. The world warped then, and her eyelids fluttered. They gazed at Ry, crystalblue and strangled in pain. She swayed, and for certain felt she was going to fall into death once more. [/blockquote]

Staring at her, he felt odd as if he was displaced and his eyes stared down at the doll for a moment before raising back to stare at Rin. Something was wrong and it wasn't just him as he noticed something different in her eyes. There was no point in shouting for help and no point running off for any either, he was all she had in this very moment. Moving from the very spot, he began to feel normal as the doll hit the floor and her hands moved to grip her throat. Sliding up beside Rin, his hand rose up to her neck while his other moved her hands out of the way. Closing his eyes, he rested his palm upon her throat, letting his senses tingle as his fingers rubbed against her throat. "Something seems to be blocking you essence, try to calm down, focus on something else rather than this moment," he stated softly as his other hand rose to her neck. With his fingers pushing softly against her throat, he rubbed her skin as if attempting to loosen whatever was in there, whatever was causing this. Ry had little clues of what he was doing or what was actually wrong, but he knew he had to try his very best, do everything in his power to help her, "Calm your feelings and everything will be back to normal, I promise." There was no way he could actually keep that promise, but somehow he knew luck was on his side today, more so today than any other, but that wasn't surprising, it was his birthday.

What the hell? Ry had leapt from his spot, and came to her aid. His advice was awkward, but what other choice did she have? She blinked, and it was as if a snowplow had moved in after a snowstorm. Calm. Quit worrying. Forget pain. Tranquility slid over her, and her 'breathing' came with ease now. One hand moved down, resting firmly upon the ground, while the other snaked up and grabbed the man's hand. Her eyes were blank, face emotionless, as she removed his hand from her throat and placed it at his side. "Thanks." she said, hardly putting emotion into it. Inwardly her eyes rolled; great. She'd be blank for weeks... terrific. "Well Ryhc Mandrine, I'm Abata Rin, or Rin, please." [/blockquote]

Watching her, he could feel the muscles relax and whatever was blocking her from breathing sift down the stream of her throat. As her hand rose and moved his from her throat, he rested them at his sides and stared at her, letting a gentle smile press over his lips. Listening to her sweet voice, he wasn't sure which was better, her features or the voice, both seem to cause his cheeks to blush. Turning away, he rubbed the back of his head and began to move to wards his scythe once again, "Well, I better," he paused having nothing to really add or even say in place as only a laugh rippled off his lips as his hand fell from his head, "Guess I don't have much else to do." Bending down to pick up his scythe, he slide it back onto his back, shoving the handle into the holster easily and as his hand moved away, it laid perfectly there. Turning to stare at her again, he smiled softly, "And you can call me Ry if you wish," he wanted to say so much more, yet he held back, unsure of the right move at this point. A heavy sigh passed his lips as his eyes fell, he was confident in battle, yet when it came to the heart, he hesitated a lot.
